I owned an '86 for years, but sold it when the leak was so bad I couldn't
keep water in it anymore (and couldn't afford the engine job). (Also had 5
different 70's buses--loved them all (mostly)).

I've noticed an '85 for sale (camper, no stove/frig/etc.) though I haven't
looked at it yet. It has 132K miles. Asking $2800.

Are there significant differences between the 85 and 86? Wasn't there a
major change in the water-cooled engine about that time? Should I be wary of
this vehicle for any other reason?

(Yes, I plan on taking it in for an inspection by a local garage who has
done work for me previously....)

BTW, saw several VW campers on eBay today....
