Earl, IMHO after having lost a few and trying to replace them (Stant use to make a non-locking cap) It's not worth the effort. I think as long as no one know about this and you don't hang a screw driver from the side of the van it should be fine. The only person that will know that it works with a screwdriver is the guy that is in the process of stealing you gas and its too late but at least he won't destroy your cap Jere -----Original Message----- From: Vanagon Mailing List [mailto:vanagon@gerry.vanagon.com]On Behalf Of Earl Smith Sent: Friday, February 08, 2002 5:58 PM To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM Subject: gas tank cap The lock on my gas cap doesn't. the cap can be turned with any key or screwdriver. A replacement costs $50. What have others on the list in this situation? TIA
