Are you reliably able to get oil to the felt pad inside the motor frame? I've driven the blower rotor off the shaft to get to these bearings. A considerable nuisance, but has seemed to work ok, lasted well. For the folks who'd like to put oil tubes in so one could oil the motor without disassembling the dash -- think about boring the end of the motor shaft with a small transverse hole at the end of the bore at the same depth as the felt oil pad -- a thin brass tube might be a loose sliding fit in the bore, and be fitted so that it would mate with the flexible tube coming from the external oiling point. Would be a lot of trouble and involve disassembling the motor, but I bet it could be made to work. david -- David Beierl - Providence, RI http://pws.prserv.net/synergy/Vanagon/ '84 Westy "Dutiful Passage" '85 GL "Poor Relation"
