Don't be too concerned if it never comes on while moving.  My fan only runs
at idle when I am stuck in traffic, or have the AC on.  I would run it
around to get it hot, then idle it for a while in your driveway.  It should
come on eventually.  Set-point may be higher than you think--more than just
above the light on the gauge.
