I guess I am cornfused. You buy the van in Miss. Complete the paperwork after ensuring all smog equipment is still on the van (no 2 barrel carbs here please)... move it to CA with it's Miss. title, get it smogged (no easy task for any Vanagon of that age) and register it in CA. What am I missing? As far as the seller being responsible for smogging it, that is up to you to enforce. The state doesn't care as long as it passes smog. Perhaps Ben T has some other ideas on this one. BTW - I wish I could buy your van.. but I'll still be in Yoshi land come Saturday and the GF would kill me if another one showed up in our (her) yard. tim in San Jose >bid is over but reserve amount not reached last I checked...Moot Point, >however, as is pointed out in: CA Dep.Consumer Affairs, Bureau of >Automotive >Repair/Smog, where California's lengthy&complex smog requirements make >out-of-state vehicles a virtual impossibility; plus, the seller must >complete the smog for the buyer: Just HOW is someone in Mississippi to do >THAT? > _________________________________________________________________ Chat with friends online, try MSN Messenger: http://messenger.msn.com
