John- In parting may I say farewell and be sure to sign up on the AIRS list where you will find support and emergency roadside assistance 24 /7. If watercooled is the frying pan, aircooled is the fire. I know, I owned aircooled only VW's for 15 years. The last six have been watercooled. And fuel injected-the 1995 Golf engine has never given me the trouble common to the WBX. If you switch back someday to fuel injection, and water cooled, perhaps the New Vanagon will be available. Just trying to humor you. The type 2 busses actually have higher maintenance needs than the Vanagon. And the dreaded clutch cable! I still have thumb numbness(thumbness) from years of turning clutch wing nuts with my thumbs . I wish I could give you a thumbs up. Aufwiedersehen. I Sold, well actually traded, my Vanagon today. As we speak it is heading southbound on I-75 toward its new home in Alabama. This move leaves me watercooled-free. So I will be signing off this list for awhile until (if ever) I get another water cooled van. UNtil then, see you on the air-cooled lists! Thanks to those of you who helped me out on occasion with my Vanagon questions, and to those of you who were "not amused" by my occasionally twisted since of humor and sarcasm, well, to you I say "Go work on your van, and relieve some of that anxiety!" I would like to part with these words that sum up my frustration with water cooleds, "Carburators and manual chokes FOREVER!, Fuel injection and Electronic control unit thing-a-ma-bobbies NEVER!!" Peace All, see you on the aircooled lists, John BakerGet more from the Web. FREE MSN Explorer download : http://explorer.msn.com
