Hi All- I am in the "research phase" of fixing the coolant and oil leak on my 88 Westy (which has gotten worse over the winter). There is a TON of material in the archives on this subject, but it seems like there are both pros and cons to engine replacement vs. head/gasket replacement. I would prefer to take a little more economical route at this point, but if new heads will just go bad again in several thousand miles, maybe a rebuilt engine is a better alternative (??) I don't think I will own my Westy for ever, but even if I keep it for a few more years it will require some immediate repairs. Any advice or same experiences? Thanks :) Candis K.
