I think several people have totally mis-interpreted by original post about this subject. This was not meant to be a bashing of the Subaru conversion. I know I have never done one, I know that I really don't know much about them. This is my choice. I never claimed to be an expert on these conversions. I never claimed to have done several and they all turned out crappy or anything like that. Read the original post. Someone asked about reliability of this conversion. I answered that I had spoken with a few owners and that all was not roses and sunshine (as far as the experience that these folks had). I was expecting Subaru conversion folks to post about thier experiences (good, bad, etc). Instead I get all of these posts addressed to me, telling me to stop bashing this conversion. I am not bashing this conversion. Do it. Love it, embrace it!!! Just don't pretend that it is perfect when Vanagons are not now, nor ever will be. Warren, if you are going to tell me to not talk about these conversions because I haven't done one, then I promise I won't any more. But there are other people on this list that are talking about this conversion in a very positive manner (no names, you know who you are) that have never done one either. Please tell those folks to be quiet too. No BIC lighter on this end. Ken Wilford Van-Again John 3:16
