On a Jeep Wagoneer LTD that I wonce had, a mechanic connected a return line to the tank to a vacuum point on the carburetor via a "T" he installed in the line. This was done when a carbon filter system was removed and the return line from the filter was hooked to the carb. Anyway, I kept having this weird problem of running out of gas even though the tank gage said I had plenty. I also had a problem with this mysterious huge suction on the fuel cap. Really hard to get it off to fill the tank. Well, the vacuum pulled by the carb line, partially collapsed the tank, giving me erroneous reading. The tank developed a permanent set, and all zI could do was replace the tank. It was a pisser!! John Rodgers 88 GL Driver Melissa Mourkas wrote: > Ditto!
