Peter, I can't resist, so I'll chime in, too... I just turned over 210,000 on my 85 GL this morning on the way to work. Despite it's minor frustrations, it hasn't let me down yet. Oh, there are times when I like to dream about converting it to an I-4, but until the engine gives out, I'm content. I'll start working on the minor dings and rust spots in the spring, then with some new paint, she'll be like new. Welllll, like a new van with 210,000 under her belt. Fix the little stuff and keep rolling. One thing that my Dad always told me, when I was young enough to think I knew better, is that when you have something (car, house, wife, etc...) at least you know what you've got and where it needs work. Taking over someone else's possession (car, house, wife, etc...), you never know what surprises may be in store for you.
