All, On my way home tonight I stopped for gas. The Van has not been idling right today and this past weekend I had to extract about 2 cups worth of coolant from the over-flow (LIGHT BULB...). At that time I checked the coolant tank and saw no air pocket... Phew. Fast forward to tonight again, as the Van was filling up I popped the hatch and there it was in all its glory! Coolant tank was bubbling with a 3 inch air gap and the overflow tank was half way up the cap. I came home and told Annemarie. The Van is an 8 passenger, 161K miles, 1985, 1.9L GL with a 3 month old paint job and many extra parts replaced, fuel pump, brakes, coolant hoses, front bearings, on and on... The kicker is that I just did the head gaskets at about 140K. The heads were tested and rebuilt by a reputable shop. I can't figure out why the gaskets let go again. Any thoughts or comments please. Anyone interested in it? We are in NJ. Thank you.
