Well, I looked at the new Eurovan again today while servicing my van for a
new oil pump. No way would I trade the convenience of a Vanagon for that
cramped space Eurovan. What a lousy design.

BUT, the Eurovan pop top has struts. I'll bet you can buy Eurovan struts (or
generic struts and put them on your pop top to help you with your extra
weight.
