On my last trip to New Mexico from California I ranged between 17.3 and 19.4 mpg, driving, usually, 65 to 70 mph. Overall, including every mile I've driven and every gallon of gas I've put in it, my average is 17.1 (with an automatic transmission and occasional a/c). Bob Trousdale 1990 Westfalia
