Mark, White is one of the cheapest color's---- No pigment---or very little. Red is the most expensive--especially Porsche red----Many, Many denaro's. My advise to anyone who wants a long lasting paint job, is to get the vehicle base coat / clear coated, with a good quality paint. (IMPHO PPG the best, Dupont the worst) The advantage of the clear coat is to keep the UV off the color, or pigments---- White is an easy color to maintain, and the most resonable to have done. ( plus it hides allot of evil's---) Later, Terry E-mail message From: drillock@earthlink.net (markdrillock) Date: Sat, Mar 16, 2002, 8:41pm (CST-2) To: CTONLINE@WEBTV.NET (Terry K.) Paint the van with a full blown urethane----figure on going through 2 or 3 engines before the color goes bye, bye. Don't sand blast the Van, much too aggressive--try some sort of media blasting, with crushed walnuts or some other gentler to the metal type product. This will make for less surface prep on the other end--- One last thought---be sure to have the shop wherever you take the vehicle in question to be refinished, lay a coat of self etching primer, over the area to be painted, and then another coat of filling primer over that----this will guarantee all the older paint, and rust is sealed off good. Now the price---lower 1/4th of the van----- So your talking about from the body line just above the wheels--all the way around or the line above the door handles? If it's above the door handles--your a little short on the denaro's --just above the wheels--maybe $900.00. Tough call---- Later, Terry " The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of the good deal is gone"---
