The $15 ECU was just what was needed. I installed it this afternoon.  We have
new plug wires, new ignition coil, new ignition module, new cap and rotor.  I
also replaced
much of the wiring in the ignition circuit which had become brittle with age.
It runs well.  Thanks for the help of all who responded.
