Subject: Calculating Horsepower?

With all the chipping and ratio rocker being installed I've been thinking
there might be a way to estimate HP by timing  acceleration in one gear, say
30-50 in third, with a vehicle of known weight.
I'm a math underachiever. Any help out there?
