Agreed -- I went through two rebuilds on my beloved '83 Westie in high
school and college.  I'm sniffing around for a wasserboxer of my very own
now; I can't afford to go back to the charming but expensive world of
slowly-warping cylinder heads.
Follow-on question: to Syncro or not to Syncro?  It occurs to me that a
complicated drivetrain on a ten-plus year old bus is asking for trouble.
