Check out the o-rings under the breather and where the dipstick tube fits
into the block.  The breather o-ring was hardened and the one for the
dipstick tube was missing.  I also had a problem with oil blowing out the
rear and coating the rear end in a fine oil mist.  Replacement cured the
leaks.
