Phil: I use a pair of gell cell size U1 wheelchair batteries wired in parallel (they are 6v each). I have had them in there for about two years, and they still work great. More amp-hours than an Optima, and less $$, plus they fit without cutting off the top posts (ugh) http://gerry.vanagon.com/cgi-bin/wa.exe?A2=ind9905C&L=vanagon&D=0&P=46948 Here's all the details: http://gerry.vanagon.com/cgi-bin/wa.exe?A2=ind9907A&L=vanagon&P=R7340 Brent Christensen '89 GL Syncro Westy Santa Barbara, CA >From: phil stanhope <napszeerf@YAHOO.COM> >Reply-To: phil stanhope <napszeerf@YAHOO.COM> >To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM >Subject: Deep Cell Auxillary Battery...Will ANYTHING fit? >Date: Thu, 4 Apr 2002 06:54:47 -0800 > >Most deep cell batterys average 8 inches tall.
