I have been around VW cars for almost 20 years and I am still amazed at the ability of the air-cooled engine. I put over 400 kms today driving throughout the mountains of WV & VA with relative ease (on the ears as well). The oil temperature never got above 190 and I was really pushing the van. Also the transmission really pulls well in 2nd gear and easily cruises at 65-70 mph. I can also thank the person who fixed the push rod tube seals. For now I have no oil leaks and do not need to put oil in at every fill up. Two fill ups and no oil loss. That's pretty good. Just thought I would share. tim
