First question: What is a Hy-Rail kit?

The truck has a Hy-Rail kit installed. The Hy-Rail kit is the railroad track wheels installed under the truck. The track wheels may be extended/retracted hydraulically as required.

Has anybody ever installed one of these kits? Does anybody know of a railroad running a Vanagon with a Hy-Rail kit? I would like to know how they did it? Any modifications required?

Would this not be a hoot?
