I have the classic head leak and have ben quoted
exorbitant(sp?) amounts of cash for a rebuild,
whereupon my decision matrix has lead me to shop for a
smoggable, if imperfect engine (1.9 or 2.1) to throw
in there until I can afford a subaru conversion. I am
in berkeley, ca with cash. Anybody parting their 83.5
or later vanagons please respond. Advise welcome.
