Have an 88 Wolfsberg GL with a cracked cylinder...compression test
showed 35% on number 4.  Need to replace engine and am getting
conflicting reports on whether to use a VW rebuild or an independent
rebuild.  Have heard lots of recent nightmare stories about independent
builders and installers pointing fingers at each other and am wondering
whether it's worth it to have the local VW dealer order one from VW and
have it installed by their service dept.
