Marshall, I have purchased, but have not yet installed the kit from CIP. Wasn't too pleased with the kit, not what I had expected. It does not resemble factory. It does not have the wide edge in the front. My leading edge is in OK shape and I will probobly just cut around and replace the rest. I did purchase some 3M weatherstrip to install. I bought from there, for as you know, we in Canada can't afford the GST, PST, duties and exchange to buy from the States, and there aren't many other options. I also bought there because they had a S&S header kit in stock, and would give me free shipping. They didn't however, credit my internet $25 USD discount. The service was quick and friendly, however and would consider buying from there again. Will update you when I get it installed. By the way, I like the S&S headers, and the installer didn't find it difficult to install at all. I may not of either if I had a lift to work under. : ) Mike Pedersen > Date: Thu, 11 Apr 2002 00:21:49 -0500 > From: Marshall <mjruskin@SHAW.CA> > Subject: Comparison of Pop-top seals requested > > Hi Volks: > > It's now that time for my van - new seals for the poptop. > > I know they are available form our normal list vendors: Vanagain, BusDepot, and in Canada from, www.BowWow.ca and www.CIP1.com > > What I'd like to know is which vendor sells one that doesn't rust (unlike the original) and doesn't require an adhesive, (like the original). > > Also, do any of them have a wide seal in the poptop, nearest the front, just like the original? > > It's interesting that this topic is so seldom discussed, if ever, since it's got to be one of the main replacement items for the Westy. > > TIA, > > Marshall Ruskin > 84 Westy > Got camping fever, BAD! >
