This may have been covered, but there is a vent for the starter
battery (under passenger's seat).  The vent is behind the front right
wheel facing the front of the van - there is/was a splash cover over
the vent hole. Mice could get in there.   M

How about using a subject line in your emails to the Vanagon list. It
is in your
best interest as many people just delete emails with no subject line.
