Answer to this is simple---and fast-- Air cooled Vanagon's have zero bottom grill---just check the nose out----that'll tell the story real quick-- how can i tell if my 83 van is a water-cooled or a air-cooled ? thanks check the water temp guage. If its there, and indicates water temp, guess what? :) John
