Are the new plastic coolant pipes the same design as the original with the
steel inserts at each end?  I was under the impression the new pipes were
made of a different material.   I remember the pipes on my old '86 as being
sort of translucent like fiberglass.  The new ones I have seen looked like
a solid gray  material.  From the last few posts, I am glad I have a new
set of steel pipes stashed away, just waiting for me to drop the gas tank.
