We spent 2 months on the road last autumn and I brought my laptop because I thought I would compose messages offline and find places to dial in and sync along the way. PITA! Ended up dialing in 3 times over 8 weeks, the rest of the time we visited libraries and the occasional caf. OTOH, if you have a digital camera the laptop is handy and fun to have along. ~Eric~ -----Original Message----- From: Vanagon Mailing List [mailto:vanagon@gerry.vanagon.com] On Behalf Of Bob Stevens Sent: May 2, 2002 9:49 AM To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM Subject: Re: Cyber cafes ..ditto...when I was in school locally about 5 years ago, I'd use the local library computers...free, no time limit...no waiting...etc....great internet access...someone there to help if needed.
