Hello Friday listees- This is not funny. I never warn the list of viruses, but today I recieved a e-mail addressed from Rubatoguy who has been on or still is on this list. The e-mail has two attachements, which I did not open . I don't think it is Rubatoguy, but a hacker. Rubatoguy hasn't ever e-mailed me personally, so I had to wonder-why is he sending me a anti-virus program for me to "download"? We have never discussed this or anything ever. SO beware- you could open this -for all I know, these hackers could use any of our familiar list names to trick us into opening a worm or other virus. The english sounds translated . Word order is wrong. Though addressed to me, there is no greeting or signature. So, I have decided that this person is impostering Rubatoguy and he could be targeting other listmembers also. It's really very clever as the offer is to download some software that is anti-virus. No doubt if you open the attachments you are getting the disease, and not the cure. Sorry if this has no Vanagon content- I just thought that this is a very subtle trick that had me fooled and you could be next. Has anyone been e-mailed this same message from Rubatoguy? (Sorry, Rubatoguy) And if I'm wrong and this really has been sent from Rubatoguy- please e-mail me to verify -Will the real Rubatoguy please stand up! Thanks!
