The odometer in my '85 has ceased to pee.  I checked the archives and found
several posts but they all dealt with a cracked gear.  On mine, the shaft
through the odometer wheels is shifting to the left so that the gear no
longer engages.  I've pulled the speedo unit and shoved it back in place a
couple of times -- each time it stayed in place 30 or 40 miles.  This morning
I did the same thing and it functioned for 1/10 of a mile.

Anybody know a good permanent (well, longer term) fix for this?  Or, should I
just go salvage yard shopping for a better condition used one?  Anybody got a
used but functioning speedo they want to sell?
