Ron's hole size is about average. I would resist the
temptaion to pour coolant into this hole after all why
do they call it a bleeder hole. Perhaps replacing
the thermostat at this time is a good idea instead and
remove the thermostat to fill the radiator before the
engine actually gets hot. Seems like the coolant
should pump to the new radiator. May want to point
the nose down and have a helper around. Oh yes
Remeber to replace the thermostat.

Subject: Ever fill coolant through BUS DEPOT
radiator bleeder hole?
I just installed my new SA Radiator i bought from Bus
Depot. Now Im ready to fill with coolant. I remember
someone saying he filled up radiator with coolant thru
the bleeder screw hole and/or the thermoswitch hole.
Said that this way it gets most of air bubbles out
before the doing the big bleed festival.
Does this work?
Phil with a shower cap on (preparing for coolant
shower:)
P.S. this South African VW radiator looks like a
carbon copy of my 84'VW OEM radiator which costs more
than twice as much new.
