Thank you for the advise, tried red line and checked the level but fear the worst. The trans still grinds shifting into second gear.Was told by 2 shops its the  1 to 2 sychro ring. Am hoping someone on the list might have a good trans for sale? Also what years interchange? Was told here in Winnipeg only 83 to 85 but he wasn't sure. Maybe a little newer one could be used with some minor mods. Any help will be appreciated as were planning a trip down south in July. I could still drive south to pick one up by starting in 2nd or shifting from 1 to 3. Can't really afford the trip and the $995.00 US plus freight and core etc. ( 2000.00 canadian OUCH)    any advice or help will be greatly appreciated.
