You are correct.  In Ontario it is not illegal to own one.  However, it
IS illegal to have one in any vehcile covered by the HTA (Hwy Traffic
Act.).   So... if you wanted to walk around your local town with a
battery operated one.... I guess you could.   If you wanted to keep one
in your car, it is ilegal where it is on or off.
