Hi folks,
After all the crap floating around a few weeks ago about vendor
bashing, I would like to take a minute to thank Daryl and AA Transaxle for
doing a great job. They gave me an accurate quote, and took my order by cell
phone when they were out of the shop. Now that is service and dedication!
The tranny was shipped withing a couple days of ordering and arrived on the
day they said it would. It looked great, and had everything ready to go.
Swapped mounts and throwout bearing, and it was installed in no time.
Actually, the time from ramping-up the van through test drive was only 3.5
hours, including lunch break. Luckily, the weather was great today -- not
hot or raining.
I took it out for a drive, and it felt great. You never know how bad
things are until you get better stuff. The shifting was smooth and easy, and
the drivetrain was tight - no slop. I used Amsoil synthetic in the case (4.5
quarts), maybe that helps the shifting too. Now we will see if this tranny
gets more than 260,000 miles too.
Happy day! And no more driving my wife's stupid jeep.
