Try the code 1111 first. Most of the vans out there have this code as it is default and unless you put in a code it will have this one. Many times the VW dealer will write the code on the radio in felt marker. Pull out your ashtray and look at the top of the radio to see if they have wrote the code there for you :) Thanks, Ken Wilford John 3:16 http://www.vanagain.com Phone: (856)-327-4936 Fax: (856)-327-2242 -----Original Message----- From: Vanagon Mailing List [mailto:vanagon@gerry.vanagon.com]On Behalf Of Andrew Jack Sent: Thursday, May 23, 2002 7:01 AM To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM Subject: Re: Radio says "SAFE" after battery change... Joe, You will need the (unique) unlock code.... Provided with radio at time of purchase, or usually available from manufacturer/distributor on proof of purchase - NB some manufacturers will only reveal this code to authorised dealers. When you get the code (and instructions) put it in a safe place (NOT the vehicle!) - My Audi is just back from the mechanic and he had the battery disconnected - and do you think I can remember where I put the code?
