John, Personally, I don't find that handle very useful on my 1980 Westy. It is located about midway up the door, and is aligned horizontally (parallel to the floor). It's fairly flat although about 3/4 of the handle hinged out a bit to allow you to get a better hold on it. \/\/i!!y 1980 Westy "Jazzy" -----Original Message----- From: Vanagon Mailing List [mailto:vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM] On Behalf Of John Brush Sent: May 22, 2002 13:00 To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM Subject: Re: 2nd handle on sliding door I can't understand how a handle could be on the back of the door, but several posts have said this is the case, so I remain curious. Based on these three comments, I am wondering if there is a handle that can fit on the rear of the door, without the obvious clearance problems, and where it attaches. Will those whom I have plagerized below, step up and keep me from looking more insane than I normally am? :-) John -------------- >I have this rear, semigingly non-functional, on my 84 Wolfsburg.
