These tanks have to be TUV approved. That means they undergo testing in
Germany to be sure that they are going to meet or exceed crash test
criteria, etc. for the particular vehicle. It is expensive to go through
this for a parts manufacturer so this cost is passed on to the customer.
However the quality level is as high as a VW dealer tank. These run around
$500. So you are getting a larger tank with the same level of quality as
the original it is going to cost. Also shipping these from Germany isn't
cheap. It is a good deal if you compare it to the German made dealer tanks.
If you want to go the cheap way and buy the Taiwanese tanks for next to
nothing, remember, you get what you pay for. Just FYI. I don't sell these
a lot, they are not a big money maker for me, however they are a good
product and I think the price is not out of this world for what you are
getting.

Thanks,
Ken Wilford

A replacement gas tank runs about $170 from the vendors, yet the Winkler gas
tank is $759!!!! why in the world does some extra metal cost nearly $600
more??
