The sticker calls for 36/40 for reinforced tires, but of course the stock size, not the larger BFGs. On my long trip in Jan, I used 44/48, this time I used 41/45 and really didn't notice any difference. 36/40 will be next. Is there any reasonable way to test age/remaining useful life of shocks? I have OMEs, but didn't install them myself and don't know their age. tx, bmc :) "Faith will move mountains, but you'd better bring a shovel...." > From: Stan Wilder <wilden1@JUNO.COM> > Reply-To: Stan Wilder <wilden1@JUNO.COM> > Date: Thu, 30 May 2002 11:53:15 -0500 > To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM > Subject: Re: Tires Again - Medium length travelogue, and misc. > > This thing on tire pressure is laughable. > The pressure indicated in the owners manual and on the door jamb is the > correct pressure. > If your front suppension, rear suspension. shocks or steering gear is > worn out you get the driving like crap scenario. > I've been running the reccomend tire pressure on my Agilit 61s and it > handles great.
