Hello one and all,

It is that time of the year again to start thinking about visiting my
favorite city on the Bay. Last year we met at Golden Gate Park near the Great
Highway for a Barbecue and just general good fun.

We had listees from as far as Michigan and Arizona at last years event. Karl
Wolz has threatened to show again this year on the way to his Yosemite
excursion. Bob Wing lost the long distance award to Karl last year because he
FLEW in whereas Karl drove.

Anyway, I have tentatively set the date at Saturday, September 14, 2002.
Beginning at let's say 9am. This is NOT a camping event so ANYONE can come.
Vanagons, Double Cabs, Syncros, 2WD's, and even Westies are welcome = ).

Suggestions for location & activities are welcome. The event is tentatively
planned at the same location. Any place considered but MUST be in San
Francisco. Anything else would not be an SF get-together, will it? Anyway, GG
Park seems perfect because there is adequate parking at the last place we
held it. It was close to the beach for the surfer types. Right in GG Park but
at the quite end. Golf just steps away as the archery range as well. Of
course we expect tat you really just want to talk vanagonspeak and meet some
listees in person.

So please bookmark your calendar. Pmail me if you want to volunteer to
orgy-nize the event and or have a suggestion.
