hello, I checked the fuel pressure regulator by running the engine for a while revving it up to 3500-4000rpm shut it off and then pulling off the vacuum hose and smelling it....not wet and did not smell like gas....so I think it is ok. I removed the injectors from the intake and turned key to on position and did not find and leaks. I changed my oil...just had it changed a week ago dammit....and put on a new filter, and everything seems to be running ok...took it for a test drive about 10miles on the highway. I am guessing that an injector could have stuck open temporarily, or is leaking intermittently.....I dont know. thanks for comments, Ry Blaisdell 1990 vanagon Texas
