One thing I would check--I noticed this when I put in my new engine--is the
crimped hose connections at the compressor. When I lifted the compressor
up out of the way, I could hear a leak at these metal-to-hose joints!
Needless to say, I haven't used the AC since.... These joints may be more
susceptible to leakage because of the engine movement.

Subject: AC System Leak
I have a leak somewhere in the AC system on my 88 GL. Loses the freon.
Not a 100 per cent loss, but it loses most of it.
How does one locate a leak like this, and what is the best approach to
fix it. . I think I want to stick with the freon, but would consider a
possible change if I can do it myself.
Any sage advie from the List???
Thanks,
John Rodgers
