Subject:propane regulator hisses
From:Helge Weissig

When I opened my '86 Westy's LP valve this weekend I discovered that the
regulator was letting out gas through the sieve like opening on top of the
piece. I suspect this indicates replacement of the part (looking at the
list archives, I assume it's a Marshall Brass 290 to be had at RV stores
for less than $20) but would like to confirm with y'all...

In retrospect, there seem to be some indications that there is a problem
with the regulator or valves. A while back, the burners did not work and I
took the tank to be refilled only to discover it was still half full.
Subsequently, the burners worked but I could not light the fridge. Last
time I used the burners and the fridge, everything worked fine (fridge lit
on the first try!!) and now the hissing gas leak from the regulator...

thanks for any wisdoms in advance!
