They are using adaptors. The VW uses 5x112 PCD. Mercedes wheels will
fit; those with 12mm studholes will need opening up and reseating to
fit the 14mm VW studs.

S-Class wheels should be plenty strong for a loaded van. I have a set
of 16" CLK wheels I will quite likely be using.
