I just installed my Bus Depot "rock guards" on my '91 Westy. I did not use the clips on the wheel well rim to mud flap connection point. They would not clip and hold due to insufficient depth of wheel well rim to hold the clip. I drilled 3 holes in the fender well rim, along the length and curvature of the flap, and used sheet metal screws with washers on the mud flap side, where the screw goes thru the flap and then into the fender rim. Very sturdy connection. I sprayed all the metal hardware and drilled holes with rust-resistant primer. It will wear off but I'll just recoat it periodically. Mine wound up level with the ground, not slanted. That may be a design characteristic of this year of Westy. By the way, I got the same (exactly) instructions with mine. Cordless drills/screw drivers are killer for this kind of job. Bob Stevens '91 Westy someone (?) wrote: > Well, I got my mudflaps.
