Since the 914 shares an engine with the early Vanagons, I thought I might ask here.  I'm just tossing around ideas for a possible future
 project and was thinking about putting a VW inline engine in a Porsche 914.  Most of the 914 engine conversions I see on the web use a
 small block Chevy V8!!

 Any ideas?  I know Kennedy makes an adapter (probably the same one used on a Vanagon), but there's a lot more to it than just the
 adapter.

 Maybe the Subaru would be a better engine for this?
