02 Mini Cooper S on order - build date July 26 Lucky sod! Quite a bit of kit I hear, bro had the original Mini Cooper 'S', 1968 with close-ratio straight-cut box, Monte Carlo colours. Could flick that into 3rd without the clutch coming down the box at 90 - watching the rev counter was fun - 7,200 ish - not bad for a pushrod engine. Have much fun - I hear the build quality is second to none... Clive Smith '88 Syncro Transporter (with a shunting, whining front diff methinks) and a few memories from early 70's of a really classic car that steered like none other. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Forhan, Thomas" <Thomas.Forhan@MAIL.HOUSE.GOV> To: <vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM> Sent: Monday, July 15, 2002 8:12 PM Subject: Doing 16" Wheel Conversion This Weekend > My Weddle rebuilt and regeared trans with the 6.17 r+p was delivered today, > Derek is installing the other half of the 6.17 r+p set into a SA locker > front diff as we speak, and the 235/70/16 BFG Mud-Terrain KMs are mounted > on the CV900 16"x6.5"/30ET wheels, ready for installation. > > This will be the fourth time I've swapped a syncro trans, so I'm beginning > to think I've been down lots of blind alleys before and it should go > smoothly.
