Subject:Alt idiot light on

Known good 65a alternator.  Problem is that the circuit from the idiot
light is grounded somewhere. (Key on, light on.  Unplug alt, key on,
light on.  Bentley says grounded circuit.)  Anyone have any good ideas
where might be a good place to start looking?
