<HTML><HEAD> <META content="MSHTML 5.50.4134.600" name=GENERATOR></HEAD> <BODY> <DIV>Hi Listers:</DIV> <DIV> I finished raising the drivers seat back 3" higher last night - works very well. I have a long torso and short arms, and the stock seats force my shoulders to hunch over. Back pains finally forced the issue, so out came the seat for changing.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> The seat was taken apart down to the metal frame, then with a die grinder and a cutoff blade, the back was cut just below the lower cross piece. The insert was made of a flat piece of steel 1.5" x .125", and the outside flanges were tubes of .5" square by .063" thick. I welded these together in a C shape, then cut the ends at an angle to fit the profile of the seat frame cuts.</DIV> <DIV> Welded, painted, reassembled.</DIV> <DIV> Net effect: I have lumbar support nearly where it should be, the arm rests are correctly located, and all is well in the universe.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I have photos of the process if anyone needs.......... email me off list.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Randy Bergum</DIV> <DIV>1990 Carat</DIV></BODY></HTML>
