Is it a whitish sludge from water or a brown sludge? The brown sludge is
from the clutch linings disintegrating. You will need to do basic
overhaul soon. These transmissions are relatively easy to repair so any
competent transmission shop should be able to service the auto section
for you. If you are real daring you can do it yourself. Is actually
easier than a manual trans.

hi
new to the list. looking for info on tranny for 90 carat. we have a
sludge buildup in the filter screen. six months ago we replaced a
ruptured heat exchanger . can the sludge be part of the problem caused
by the heat exchanger? any info is welcome. also the name and phone
number of a good and reasonable mechanic for engine, trans, and body
work
in new england.
thanks for help we have a blast with this machine and would like to keep
it running for many years. we too had an 87 that caught fire from a gas
line and were devasted. dnalrahs@juno.com
