As my Wife said about her Jeep:

"There is nothing inside that is more valuable than the cloth top, so don't
lock the doors."

With the exception of tools hidden under the driver seat, I follow that same
point of view.  Back in Phoenix, I never even rolled up my windows (no rain).
 Dirty old car with open windows = nothing worth stealing.  Apparently it
worked.
